However, she deliberately lost points during the contest. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the actress reminisced about the experience and recounted how she responded in a thick local accent when asked by Paula Abdul, one of the judges, saying “I’m sorry, I don’t know English.” She revealed that she did everything possible to ensure that she did not win the crown.
